The Brashear Association supports a wide variety of programs for children, the underemployed, and food insecure individuals. Fundraising for legacy organizations has become more difficult as demographics shift, necessitating new, authentic, technically-savvy forms of engagement with younger demographics.
Hilltopolis, a live concert in a historic park overlooking the city of Pittsburgh, raised donations and visibility for Brashear with a new generation of potential supporters. The festival featured local hip-hop artists and a headlining performance by Chicago hip-hop duo, The Cool Kids, as well as a sold-out afterparty, partnership with local nonprofit hackathon Give Camp, and a robust vendor and tabling area featuring local food trucks, artists and nonprofits.
